Enter the Dangerous Mind (2013)
Israeli and Ramirez
moving forward with the insanity defense that he chooses to establish. Four women and three men were found shot to death in their home... Fire... There is no known motive for this crime. There is also very little outward signs of the... She saw the body of a young man laying right here... She saw the body of a young man laying right here... Mental illness is the only... mental illness is the only accurate explanation. She saw the body of a young man laying right here... Now, this is a very tragic situation. Hey. Dude. Can you turn it down? I can't hear myself think. You gonna get out of this shit hole today, buddy? Come on, let's do something interesting for once. I am doing something interesting. At least 19,876 followers agrees. Followers. Come on. See how normal people live. She's all right. Got a sexy little librarian thing going. I mean, come on, she looks like such a nice girl, but you know, she gets a couple of lemon drops in her, and then she wants it in the ass. Did you not see that? She just looked at you. Go say hello. That's your in, idiot. Go say hello. What's wrong with you? Hey! That's the way you're gonna walk? Huh? How do you expect to ever get laid if the thought of talking to a chick on the street makes you wet yourself? Huh? Oh, that's fine. I guess gettin' laid just isn't everybody's bag, right? Good thing God invented jerking off, right? Ah, come on. I'm just bustin' your balls. I know homeless chicks are more your speed anyway. Broadway Women's Shelter, can I help you? Jim. Kevin, I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to just... should I just come back later? No, no. Just doin' exercises for my sciatica. Give me a hand up, would ya? How ya been, young man? It's been awhile. Everything okay? Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. You're fine? You're fine. What does fine mean? I'm good. Good. Good. Well, come on. Let me show you what's goin' on out here. This is Wendy. You wanna show Jim what's up with the computer? So, when you're done, come back in the office. We'll settle up, okay? It's... don't worry. Don't worry, it's no charge. You sure? Yeah, no, don't worry. It's no charge. Jim's an old friend. So don't abuse him too much. God, I hate this computer. Old friend, huh? Oh, yeah, he likes to say that. You should sit here. I'll take this. Do you, um... how do you like... Right there. You see that, the thing that's blinking? That's what keeps popping up. Huh-uh. That's actually normal. It's just got a mild case of bein' a PC. I like it, by the way. Working here. I'm getting my master's in social work, so it's really awesome getting to work with Kevin. Sorry. Hey. This is Jim. Hey, Pete. Yeah, Pete, I'm just with another client right now. I'll just call you after. Sorry. Hey, what was that? Just work. Just another client. Sorry, I meant your ring tone, the track. Was that Aquatic Gabe? It's me. That's really cool. Sounds like something you'd hear on UK1, doesn't it? I meant that as a compliment. Yeah. And I like some of that... some of the stuff they play on... yeah, thanks. I have to go do something in the kitchen right now. Are we good? It's all good. Okay. Okay, yeah, sorry... All right, I'll catch you later. Thank you. - Okay. - Okay. Hey, Wendy, can we set up the tables? It's a... it's all good. It's all good. All good. Abnormalities present in all sociopathic humans. The problem most critics have with this approach is that it is derived from a medical model that tends to rigidly classify all clients as sick, or not sick. Well, some people are clearly sick. True. But that's not the point. Who gets to define sick? Obviously, if he presents a potential danger to himself, and/or others... Okay, but that's every human being on the planet. Potential isn't destiny. And the moment you stigmatize and isolate the quote, unquote, "sick," you risk precipitating the exact danger you were trying to avoid. Bullshit. Hey, let's be respectful. I'm sorry, but it's true. That is just academic dogma. It has no real world relevance. You talk to anyone in the clinical environment, and they'll give you a million war stories about the nut jobs they've met. Some people are sick. And those people are more volatile and dangerous than the rest of us, period. And with that brief exchange, we shall... Whatever. He waxes his eyebrows. How smart can he actually be? So, wait, she said she likes your music? You know what the odds are of meeting a girl who's actually into that noise? Not... not very likely. It's still sort of a niche market. That was a rhetorical question, my friend. But my point exactly. We've gotta do something about this, or you are never gonna get laid. I've been laid. You count that? Marlow! Marlow, come here, boy. Marlow! There you are, buddy. Sorry 'bout that. You probably just scared him. He's pretty sweet. We'll walk that way. Can you imagine a chick even walkin' into this place? I think your head would explode with shock. Might figure out what a social cripple you are. I mean, it's not like it's gonna happen any time soon, but let's just say... You should ask that girl Wendy out. You listenin' to me? Wendy. She likes you're music for fuck sake. She's not a freak. She's not even fat. I know how you do it. Brain Tree. Come on, Brain Tree, that's your in. That's it, you take her a CD. She said she wanted to hear it, didn't she? So you just say... you're there droppin' off a CD for her, then you don't look like a freak stalker walkin' in there for no reason. That's your in. Come on, man. What are you so afraid of? Hey, isn't this what you're always talkin' about? Finding a nice, normal girl? Okay, put your fuckin' tampon in, and let's go. Today's the day we snag you an actual, real-life chick. For once in your life, try to be cool. Nothin' weird or desperate. You can do this. Would you like some? Thank you. Okay. Hi. Thank you. How are ya? Nice to see you. Potatoes? There you go. Potatoes. Huh, I'll also have whatever that brown stuff is. What are you doin' here? That's... Brain Tree is my stuff. That's really nice. I'll listen to it... later. So... sorry, I have to get back. Oh, God, yeah, sorry. Of course, you have, your um... you're doing your... I did just wanna... I wanted to ask you one other question really, really fast. I wanted to um... sorry. Wanted... You wanna hang out with me some time. Yes. When? Um... I didn't have like a whole plan, or whatever. Right. I'm not like a... not like a player. Do you know Launch? Hmm-mm. It's... well, my friend Mood has a residency there, so if you... we could go tomorrow night if you want. That's tomorrow night. How should we... We could meet out front at 10. That sounds good. At Launch at 10, I'll see you, um... I'll see you at Launch tomorrow at 10, Wendy. Okay. Okay. The self-defense classes don't always do what you think they're gonna do. It's just a self-defense class. Can you teach it or not? These ladies don't necessarily need any more encouragement to get themselves into violent situations. Self-defense techniques got a funny way of turning battery into murder. You know what I'm sayin'? You all right? Yeah, yeah. Cool. Seriously, potatoes? That's the best you could come up with? She laughed. Yeah, she probably laughed at you. How many times do I have to tell ya, chicks dig confidence. You can't keep goin' in there all scared and awkward. Oh, Wendy, uh, uh, uh... you let her ask you out. That's the worst part. You're a sad, pathetic, little man, aren't you? Does that make you feel good? Come on, man. What's the point, huh? Twistin' those little knobs. Don't strap on a sack... I don't care how many little trolls online think Brain Tree's a genius. You don't see it, right? That's what it is with you. She's never gonna go for a social creep. Grow some fuckin' balls. All right, look. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to be such a dick. But trust me, that's the side you gotta show girls if you want 'em to take you seriously. Wendy? Wendy? It's okay. Just a bad dream. You're gonna be fine. I'm here for you, man. I'm right here. Don't be scared. It's okay. You can talk to me. What are you so afraid of? Just leave me alone. If that's what you want. But I'm only here to help you. Check this out. I got 'em at the spy store. Just sits right in your little ear. How cool is that? He? What's your biggest fear? What did you do? What's your biggest fear? Not knowing what to say and looking like a complete idiot, right? Well, guess what? You don't have to worry about that anymore. You don't have to worry. You can't see it. If you could see it, what good would that do? Then everybody else could. That's why it's... way in there. Take it out! Please, take it out. Calm down. I am trying to help you. The only reason I'm here is to help you. Come on. Take your pills. It's all good. Take your pills, and go to sleep. I'll just sit here quietly until you go to sleep. When you wake up... everything's gonna be better. This is good, Jim. It's all gonna be okay. This is progress, Jim. Just trust me, okay? It feels weird. You're gonna be glad I'm with you. Just wait. You'll always know what to say. I'll show you. Can I help you? Yeah, you can blow me in the conference room, but I'm sure that's not what you meant. I'm, um... Oh, you're the computer guy. Let me show you the server. Now be cool. I'm gonna show you how to be cool. Just do what I say, and see the results. Trust me. Say, great shoes. Say it. Great shoes. Thanks, I just got 'em actually. Sorry, it's at the very end of the building. You could fall and break your neck back here, and no one would even notice. Don't laugh like an idiot. Say, this must be where all the office hook-ups happen. Do it. Well, this must be where all the office hook-ups happen. Seen its share of action, I've heard. I'll bet you have. I'll bet you have. You see that? That was flirting. Hi. You startled me. Sorry. What are you doing? All right, say, sorry, you look so good tonight, I lost my train of thought for a second. You ready? We're on the list, come on. This is my friend. Fuck yeah, Jim. Wendy's told me a lot about you. Nice to meet you. I told him about Brain Tree. I hope that's okay. Yeah, dude, I know your shit. Brain Tree, your beats are sick, dude, wicked. Yeah, well maybe after the show, we can all hang out. Maybe we can like swap tricks. Yeah? Okay. Look, I hope it's cool, but I ripped a couple of your tracks and loaded them on to my playlist. I mean, if you want, you can jump back there, maybe spin for a little bit. You have my music? Come on, get up there. It's gonna be fun, I promise you. I don't really... I don't really DJ. Come on, dude. I primed them. They're ready. Trust me. This crowd's gonna love it. It's cool. Dude, get up there. You made the track. You might as well drop it on 'em. Come on, bro. How do you, um, drag this in? Bouncer? Okay, got it. Let it work. Yo, yo, yo. We gotta special agent up in this motherfucker, tonight, all right? I want everybody to make some noise for my man, Brain Tree. Drop it. I love the last track. That was probably my favorite. And what was that sound? You know the sound I'm talking about? The one that... you're gonna laugh at me. The one that goes... I think um... I think you're talkin' about a rece. A rece. I'll have to remember that. Why do I love that so much? It's just noise, right? It's just like a bunch of noise put together. Yeah, it's like... it's like combining them. It's like finding the perfect blend of sounds and when you find it, you just use 'em together, and they sound like... like silence. I don't know, it probably doesn't make any sense. It does, actually. Hey, I hope I didn't put you on the spot earlier. I just feel like... you know, your stuff is so good, and... and I know you have a lot of followers online, but, I don't know, I feel like you should be signed to a record label and like out there playing shows and stuff. I know what you're saying and stuff, but I don't um... I just want people to be able to listen to it. You know, I just want it to be there if they need it, you know, like even if they don't have any money. Like some people have all these... sounds in their head, and they just... I think the music helps. Is that why you do it? To get rid of the sounds in your head? Yeah. Yeah. It helps me be by myself. When I was a kid, I hated being by myself which is funny, because now I pretty much only feel normal when I'm alone. That made me sound like such a loser. Wendy, you're like the farthest thing from a loser I've ever seen. You just like to be alone. Enough with the nerd shit. Just take her home. What? Nothing. Come on, just say it. Trust me. Hey, would you mind walking me home? You gotta be kiddin' me. Sure. Thanks. I had fun. Yeah, me too. It's okay, sorry, just, I wasn't expecting that. I liked it. I just um... I just... That's okay. It's okay. Um... this happens. Let me... let me get you something, okay? Where are you going? I just think we should... we should slow things down, okay? You gotta be fuckin' kiddin' me. You jizzed in your pants? Are you kidding me? Are you 12? She barely even touched you, and you jizzed everywhere? You know what she thinks of you now, right, that you're a pathetic loser! I don't know how you can go on being such a useless fuck nut. She's laughing at you. She's mocking you to her friends, calling you a fucking limp dick loser, premature ejaculator. She's laughin' at you, man. She's dyin' of laughter. What? You think chicks don't talk about that shit? She's telling all of her friends right about now. Probably five of 'em sittin' around with their fucking lattes talkin' about you and your pin dick. You are a fuckin' embarrassment. Now everybody knows. He jizzed his pants. His pants. Dyin' of laughter. Hello! Hello! What do you want? Can you just maybe turn down your music a little bit, dude? You're not the only person that lives here, you know. Fuck off. Finally. Fuck you. You act like a fuckin' man. Tell me that didn't feel good standin' up for yourself. You gonna let this bitch keep bossin' you around? Huh? Shut her mouth. Maybe then you'll be ready to fix this fucked up situation you're in. You can't let these bitches just go around town talkin' shit about you, callin' you a two-pump chump premature ejaculator. Everything okay? Everything's fine. We've gotten some noise complaints. Mind if we come in? Anyone else in here? You been drinking tonight, sir? A little. Any drugs? Oh, well I have a prescription. So you do. You got anything else? Any weapons around here? No. I don't. Wait, I, um, I have a gun. It's just a... just a toy. It's an air pistol. Mind if we have a look at it? You want... oh, okay. Okay. Okay, that's good. I got it. Thank you. Okay. I'll just... I'll just... I'm just gonna sit down. Please. What you got there, a 22? I don't... I don't really know about... about guns at all. Twenty-two can do some real damage if you're not careful. Okay. What do you use it for? I... I don't. I don't even use it. I just, um... well, I shot at targets a couple times, but it was, um, well, it was boring. It's just like computer games. All right. Well, do yourself a favor, and just keep the music down. If we have to come back, we're gonna cite you for disturbing the peace, you understand that? It's not... not really fair. She would disturb me. Sir. Okay. Keep the music down. Stop it. Um, I just um... do you remember, Vermood, was talking, your friend, was talking about having me do the remix for him, so I did it. And I think it's... I think it's cool. If you have four minutes, I came here to play it for you. Jim, I'm at work right now. Right. Well, I was just swingin' by. I'll, um... I'll just... there's one other thing, if you don't mind, just real quick. I just... had a lot of fun the other... the other night, and I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out again sometime. I just don't want you to think I'm a total loser. Do you think we could talk about this in Kevin's office? It has nothing to do with that. But I think that you're a really great guy, and I think that you're super talented. And if you're open to it... She's lying. We could try being friends. Stop it! Jim, what's going on? She's a fucking cunt. You're a fucking... You're a fucking cunt. Fucking cunt. Fucking cunt. So, I'll see you at home? Cases like Jim's are the reason... that I stopped doing clinical work. He's schizophrenic. It's more than psychopathology. This isn't politically correct to say, but there's a limit to... I am a man. How much we can help people. I am a man. Shut up! There's some extreme cases where no amount of talk therapy will help a person recover. I mean, medication can help them become more functional. Can I get the vodka? The real healing is just not always possible. So, you're saying some people are beyond help. Jim has been through horrors that you can't begin to imagine. He obviously needs help. Needing it and wanting it are two different things. No, men don't let lying cunts fucking tell everyone how pathetic they are at sex, and they can't do anything right. They can't even been touched without fucking cumming in their pants! You piece of shit! You listen to me. You know what you have to do. I don't know it. I am not gonna let you alone until you do what you have to do. With all due respect, I think that's complete bullshit. I'm sorry, I just... I... I just don't understand how you can decide which cases are just too difficult. We'll see. We'll see what happens. Hey, Jim. Okay, friend, we'll see what happens. It's Kevin. We'll see. Whoa, Jim. - Jim, I... - Shut up! The truth hurts too much. Go ahead, pussy. Go ahead and let me see you do it. Let me see it. I wanna see that you have balls. I don't believe. Pussy. You dumb fuck. You're never getting rid of me, Jim. Not as long as you need me. You got that? As long as you insist on being a fuckin' vagina who lets people walk all over him, you'll need me to protect you, to show you what to do. You're a child, Jim. Scared. Helpless. Useless. Lonely little child. What would you do without me? Got no friends. No one loves you. No one gives a shit about you except for me. No girl wants you and your tiny little pin dick. You will never satisfy a woman. We haven't been able to lift any good prints, unfortunately. 20/20 mean anything to you? No clue. Well, you have any idea who mighta done this? Sure, I got about eight or 900 suspects in my old case files. We'll see what the lab says. It could just be kids messin' around. I mean you never know. But, I'll keep you posted, all right? You know, sometimes when we think we're protecting somebody, but really, we're just makin' it worse. I'm just sayin' that as your friend. I don't wanna call the police on him, I just want him to get the help he needs. You can't help what's inside of him. No one can. You should know that. You know what really happened that day with his brother and the other boy? It wasn't his fault. That's all that matters. Mrs. Whitman, Jim's illness is only gonna get worse. Thank you for your visit. You don't understand. I can't help him, unless I know what really happened to him. You can't prove anything. And you can't change anything. So, what is the point of digging all that back up now? I don't want him to get hurt. Leave my son alone. Jim? Jim, this isn't cool. You can't just show up to my building. Did you listen to my remix? Oh, my God, what happened? I just... I think if you hear it, I know you'll like it. Wendy, I don't feel so good. I don't feel so good. Why don't you just sit down? Have a seat. What happened to your ear? I had to make him stop. Make who stop? He says mean things to me all the time, and I... I can't make him stop. I don't know what to do. It's gonna be okay. He makes me so angry. He makes me so angry. You know, you don't have to respond to him when he talks to you. And you don't need to be afraid of him. Shut up! Sorry, Wendy, I didn't mean to make you afraid. I didn't mean to scare you. He just won't... he just doesn't know you. Hmm-mm. No, you don't. Jim, I'm gonna be right back. I'm just gonna go and get something to clean you up. Just some antiseptic and a towel, okay? Hmm-mmm. What are you doing in there? Wendy? Jim, can you go back in the other room, please? I have to go to the bathroom, and I'm not gonna do it if you're standing right there. You're making me nervous. Go back in the dining room. I don't know... I don't know what you're talkin' about. I didn't do anything. Uh-huh, I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. I don't know what you're saying right now. Not now. No, I don't know what you're fucking talking about! Shut up! Shut the fuck up! Shut up! Shut up! No, no. No. Why did you do that? Why did you do that? Huh? Wendy. They locked him up, and they won't let me see him. It's gonna be all right. This is probably the best place for him right now. What happened? He came over. He was bleeding. I don't know. I tried to help. I didn't know... what to do, you know? He scared me. Yeah. I know what he's going through. He's not... he's not a bad person. He's just... he's sick, right? Tell me we're gonna help. Let me see what I can do, okay? The police aren't gonna file any charges, so he's just here for observation. So, can I talk to him? I'm afraid not. He prefers not to see you. He says you're not his doctor. I'm a social worker. I have a PhD. I had a private practice for 22 years. Jim was a client. And when was that? When he was 13. He suffered a psychological trauma. What kind of trauma? He was brutally tortured, he and another boy. Sexually abused, drugged, psychologically tormented. Perpetrator killed the other boy while Jim watched. Perpetrator was his half-brother. Jake fled the scene. Was never apprehended. He just disappeared. I think even now Jim lives in terror that he might come back. And does Jim discuss this fair with you? He... he's unable to talk about it. Which part? Any of it. Why do you think that is? Jim needs good psychiatric treatment, not opinions. Thank you for your help. We'll take it from here. Damn. I missed all the good stuff. Good. Girl, we're going out? I don't think I can go out tonight. I'm not feeling very social. Don't tell me that that freak is actually getting to you. I'm fine. I just wanna be alone. Last night you didn't wanna be alone. Just wish I had that affect on men. Come on. Let's go out. I'm not going out tonight. Yeah. Whatever. You know what, you are such a flake. Hey, it's me. Yeah, I... I need a favor. Hey, Jim. Say hi. Hi. Can I talk to you for a few minutes? Sure. Sure. You know why you're here? I guess I had a little melt down last night, but I feel better. I guess I had a little melt down last night, but I feel better. Good. Has this kind of thing happened before? It wasn't violent or anything. Never anything violent. Did you hear voices? Just one. Just one. Did you see a psychiatrist? He put me on Thorazine. He put me on Thorazine. And did it help? It did. But it also made me really depressed, and then he put me on Prozac, and I couldn't masturbate. Oh, so... I couldn't masturbate. You couldn't get an erection. It's very common. So you stopped taking your medication? I did. Seeing a psychiatrist now? Right now, I'm seeing you, doctor. That's funny, Jim. Here's what I'd like to do. I'd like you to try a new medication. It has a lower incidence of sexual side-effects. And just this year, they've introduced it in a long, acting injectable form. How's that sound? Sounds great. Shall we start the injections today? Well, we have to start you on the pill form, first. And if we find that it's working for you and there are no serious side-effects, than we can move you to the more long-term treatment. Okay. Good. You can start on that right away. Dr. Dubrow? Are you planning on keeping me the whole 72 hours? You know the drill pretty well, huh? I guess I do. I never thought he was violent. The world is a nasty, fucked up place, my friend. Nothing you can do to change that. Go easy on yourself. Well, I gotta do something. He's clearly volatile. And a 72-hour hold isn't gonna help. He should be in long-term treatment for his own good. Can't just keep him locked up. Gotta have a good reason. Gotta have evidence, or a judge ain't gonna buy it. Thanks. Excuse me? Can I help you with something? I know the people who used to live here. Yeah, but what can I do for you? I just... it's important. I'm not exactly sure I can explain to you what... is... Brilliant. You're a man. If you think along with them, they're the crazy ones. I know it was you, wasn't it? What did you do with my dog, you son of a bitch? You're not gonna get away with this, you fucking freak! Gary. You scared the shit out of me. Hey. What's up? I'm fine. I'm home. I don't... think I'm really up for that, No thanks. I'm not isolating. I'm not. I actually have plans. My sister's having people over. Um... Okay. Look, I'll call you after. I don't know, maybe I'll stop by. Okay. Talk to you later, bye. What is wrong with you? You scared the shit out of everyone. Sorry, I just got scared. Of what? Mommy, who's that? Aunt Wendy got startled by a dog outside. Go finish your movie. What is going on? Is that guy still bothering you? No. No, I just... just... I'm stupid. I got freaked out. Wendy has a stalker. I don't have a stalker. He showed up at her house with blood coming out of his ear, because he had jammed something into it. That's disturbing. Yeah. I want a stalker. Well, I'm just saying. It's kind of a compliment. One way to look at it. Guys, come on. It's not... it's not that funny, you know. He has a serious condition. You're not kidding. - What? - Yeah, what? Well, I mean this is really hilarious... Deb. No. Don't do that. You wouldn't want someone doing that to you. Oh, who cares? They don't know him. It's fine. We won't tell anyone. Yeah, we don't. Tell us. Relax. Just John and Alex are comin' over for a drink. Come on, before those guys walk in here, and you really get uncomfortable. Say it. Come on, say it. Say it. No. Oh, for God sakes. And the moment she touched it, he blew his wad. Please don't. Come on, that's not that funny. A lot of guys have that happen. What? Okay, everyone shut up now. - Jim? - Shut up. Jim, we were just... Shut up! Shut up! Just everyone please, shut up. Stop looking at me. I said, stop looking at me! We're gonna tie each other up now. Mommy! It's okay, honey. We're just playing a game down here. Stay upstairs and watch TV, okay? Okay. Please. Please, don't hurt my kids. Please. Shut up! Okay. No! Mother fucker, mother fucker, no! Do it. Kill her, too. You leave my kids alone! Mother fucker, you mother fucker, no! Leave them alone! I'll fucking kill you! You leave my kids alone! Deb, Deb shut up. Deb, don't talk to him. Shut up, look at me, listen to me. You fucking leave my kids alone, you freak. I will fucking kill you! Deb, stop! I will fucking kill you, you mother fucker. Freak! What did you do? What did you do, you fucking freak? Deb, look at me! Fuckin' tiny dick! Deb, stop! Fuckin' piece of shit. You leave my fuckin' kids alone. Shut up! Shut the fuck up! Jim. Cunt. She told everybody, you heard her. Jim, you don't have to do this. You don't have to do this, you don't have to listen to him. You don't have to listen to what he's telling you to do. You're a good person. You're different than him. You're stronger than that. It's me, I'm your friend, please listen to me. What needs to be done. Just do what needs to be done. Jim? Jim? Jim, Jim, what are you doing? What are you doing right now? Everybody, everybody, everybody. Hurt her. Hurt her. Hurt her. Don't do that, don't do that, don't, no, no, no, no, no, look at me. Don't do that! Stop! Jim, no, no, no! Oh, God. Oh, no. Jim! Hey, do me a favor and turn around. Sir, I need you to drop what's in your hand. Sir, drop the shovel and turn around. Put your hands on your head. Show me your hands! Holy shit. Jimmy, get out of here. Get out of here! Go home! Really, just call the hospital. Look, we'll look into it. When? When homicide gets here. No you... God damn it! You're not listening to me. You need to do it now! Why aren't you listening to me? You need to do it now! God. Shh. Shh. Press the bottom button. You know what you're gonna do? Do it. Jim. I know what you're going through. I know more than you realize. You know I know. That's why you're here, isn't it? Please stop talking now. That's why you followed me here, right? You didn't just wander up to 3310 Washington Boulevard for no reason. It's because you know I understand. You... what are you... Jim, no! No, no, no, no! Help me! Help me! Help me, please! No! What are you... Jim, no! No, no, no! Help me, help me, please, help me! Help me! They'll be here soon. There's only one thing left to do. What are you doing? Jim, what are you doing? What are you doing? Jim, no, there's children upstairs! Jim, think about what you're doing! Don't listen to what he's telling you to do. Don't listen to what he's telling you to do. Don't listen to him, Jim. He's telling you it's gonna make... it better, but it won't. That's not true. Nothing will make it better. This won't make you better. Please. It wasn't your fault. Some people are just sick. People like us, we're sick. We're damaged. There's no reason for it. She's lying. Drop the flame. Do it. Please don't... please don't hurt the kids. It's not their fault. Jim. It's not their fault. And it wasn't your fault. You killed him. You crazy, fuckin'... you crazy, fuckin' freak. Do it. Do it. Do it. Fuck him up. He's gonna tell everyone. No! I'm sorry. Please, believe me, Wendy. I'm sorry. He made me do those things. I'm sorry. Fuck you! This did play out some 24 hours ago. There is no known motive for this crime. There is also very little outward sign of the horrific tragedy that took place in the back unit of this apartment in the 3000 block of Washington Avenue in Los Angeles. Here is what we do know, a white male in his 20s entered the unit carrying what police are describing as a home modified 22-caliber air pistol. The assailant went on a shooting spree, killing two and leaving one woman critically injured. Can I come in? Sure. You, uh... have you started seeing anyone yet? Therapist, or... What's a fucking therapist gonna do? Her friends are dead because of her. You think therapy's gonna help that? It's important that you do, when you're ready. I know you know that, but I just thought... that well... when you're ready. Tell this fucking retard to get the fuck out of our house. I just want you to know I'm... I'm not gonna give up on you. Okay, I won't do it. So, you may as well... just get used to me being around. You hear that? Aren't we lucky. We're gonna be fine all on our own. You don't need him. You don't need anybody, you have me. We can take care of ourselves just fine, and if he doesn't back off, we'll take care of him, too. We'll take care of him, too. All right. Still very early in this investigation, obviously. Though, this did play out some 24 hours ago. There is no known motive for this crime. There is also very little outward sign of the horrific tragedy that took place in the back unit of this apartment.
